I enjoy getting involved with my community within the Illinois area as much as possible. Anywhere that i can spread the joy and educational value of art and music, i make sure to do it!
Here i am giving a demonstration of the Tenor Saxophone to a group of kids in the neighborhood of Hinsdale, IL. I taught these future musicians how the Tenor Saxophone is assembled and answered many questions they had about playing a woodwind instrument. I played a few notes and short songs to demonstrate the sound and range of the Tenor! The students also asked me to play the Alto Saxophone so they could see how that worked as well.

I traveled to Lansing, IL at the end of October 2019 to let future band students try out the Clarinet, Trumpet and Flute at Heritage Middle School. I work for Quinlan and Fabish Music Company and part of my part-time employment with this great company allows me to travel to SO MANY schools throughout Illinois and be able to educate students and continue to practice and refine my music education skills with younger students. Many of the students enjoyed trying to get a sound out of the various instruments and had every question imaginable to ask me! It was a very fun and rewarding experience!

I like to volunteer some of my time to working with "Feed My Starving Children". A great non-profit christian organization dedicated to feeding children in other countries who do not know where there next meal may come from. I mostly volunteer in the spring and summer when my schedule frees up. Believe it or not, I've actually met and began to network with a few musicians i met at these locations. I primarily volunteer at the Schamburg, IL location.

Due to the unfortunate circumstance of the 2019-2020 COVID-19 pandemic, i have had to adjust my teaching capabilities quite drastically to accommodate my many students for e-learning. Pictured here is my student Lauren having a Saxophone lesson with me over Zoom. Because of social distancing and stay-at-home orders, i am no longer able to physically go to my students' houses and teach them, but i am finding that this virtual learning is almost as efficient and successful as those in-person lessons. Students are still able to be productive and learn during these lessons and i find that because technology is so advanced, i am able to share music digitally in real time and also give precise and constructive feedback to my students as i would in-person. Many of my students are enjoying this new approach to lessons and i am still able to connect with and enjoy the company of my students miles apart.
